Moreover, in this holy month there are many activities done by the citizens, such as tarawih prayer (extra prayer done in the evening along Ramadan), sahoor (pre-dawn meal) gathering, and neighborhood watch (siskamling).
Meanwhile, Head of East Jakarta Industry and Energy Sub-Department, Tuti Kurnia, informed that at this time there are 65,000 units of street lights in the municipality. The nature of street lights power outage is sporadic. That is why those 150 personnel are put on standby to quickly repair power outage problem.
“From 65,000 street lights spread in 10 sub-districts, the amount of prone to power outage street lights is only two percent due to old network above 15 years. There is also vandalism action,” she told.
Starting this year, those 65,000 street lights are divided into 19 zones and handled by 19 partners of auction winners in Jakarta Goods and Services Procurement Service Unit (ULP). Each zone is handled by seven officers who are ready working round a clock.
